PRISM Moose Jaw is inviting the community to come together for a Community Christmas Potluck this Friday at the Moose Jaw Centre for Arts and Culture.
The event is open to everyone, including LGBTQ+ community members, allies, newcomers and anyone looking for connection during the holiday season. Chair and founder Sarah Critchley says the goal is to reduce isolation and help people feel welcome and supported, especially at a time of year that can be difficult for many.
“There’s a large intersection between the LGBTQ+ community, mental health challenges, housing insecurity and immigration,” Critchley said. “This is about building community, meeting new people and reminding folks they are not alone.”
There is no cost to attend, and bringing food is encouraged but not required. Guests are welcome to contribute an appetizer, main dish, side, drink or dessert, but those unable to bring a dish are still encouraged to attend. PRISM hopes the potluck will offer a warm, inclusive space to celebrate the season and foster ongoing connections in Moose Jaw.
